Teaching

I teach across the Department of Economics, Finance & Quantitative Analysis at Kennesaw State University, with a focus on making financial and economic reasoning practical for students headed into business careers. I've also taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Groningen (Netherlands), where I supervised bachelor's and master's theses.

I try to build a learning experience that's rigorous but stays connected to students' everyday lives. Rather than lecturing straight through, I bring in current economic developments, short applied activities, and structured discussion so students see how the theory operates outside the classroom, especially in intro-level courses, where the relevance isn't always obvious at first.

I'm a two-time recipient of KSU's CETL Innovation in Teaching Award, and I'm an active contributor to the Bagwell Center's Financial Literacy Improvement Project (FLIP), where I help develop financial literacy workshops with colleagues in the department.

Above all, I want my classroom to be a place where students feel comfortable asking questions, even the ones that feel basic. That means being patient and approachable, explaining things more than one way when the first explanation doesn't land, and treating every question as a fair one. Student evaluations consistently point to this: they describe the class as clear, engaging, and supportive, and say they feel respected and encouraged to participate.
