Borhan Sayedy

Lecturer of Economics, Kennesaw State University, USA

I teach finance and economics at Kennesaw State University, where my classes cover corporate finance, principles of finance, and contemporary economic issues. My goal in the classroom is to make financial concepts practical, the kind of thinking students can carry with them past the final exam.

My path here has taken a few detours: an engineering degree in Iran, an MBA in Malaysia, a PhD in international finance, a postdoc in Turkey researching corporate governance, and several years teaching in the Netherlands before joining KSU. That range shapes how I teach, grounded in quantitative rigor, but always tied back to real decisions people and firms have to make.

My current research looks at applied microeconomics and household finance: how individual shareholders influence corporate boards, and how targeted financial-literacy education changes people's financial confidence and behavior, a question that grew directly out of the financial literacy workshops I run at KSU.
